I have lived in Christchurch all my life.  I am a mum to three sons and one daughter and was married for 20 years.  That ended.  Then in 2010, I was given a second chance at love and married a wonderful man who had two daughters.  We are often called ‘The Brady Bunch’ – combined having three boys and three girls; all adults aged from 23-30. We are very involved in their lives and love watching them launch into their futures of: homes, weddings, travel, careers; but most of all our grand babies – of which we have four – so far!

I think in many ways they are why I became a Celebrant  because watching and being part of the significant aspects of their lives and the lives of their friends, is a delight for me.  There seems to be weddings all around me; and I am definitely an advocate for marriage and am somewhat of a romantic with a sense of humor!

I have a day job – an Administration Manager for an IT Company.  This suits me because I pay attention to detail and like to be well organised and well prepared before time.  I’m good at planning.

I’ve always felt strongly that weddings ‘need to be done right’ – that a bride, groom and their families need to feel at ease and trust those who have been delegated to do jobs on their special day.  That you need people around you who think of everything and that can go with the flow – yet adapt quickly to an unexpected hiccup.

My husband and I have a bus and love exploring the South Island – which means I am quite willing to travel and have my own accommodation should this be helpful for a remote wedding.
